How many times have you tried to quit smoking but were not successful? Make this the LAST YEAR you smoke using a proven, effective method to detox your body, reduce stress and let you get on with your (smoke free) life.

That’s right, for just $400 I am setting up appointments EVERY WEEK DAY for two weeks. That’s 33% off the original price and you can come up to ten times instead of just six!

The only catch is that you MUST REGISTER as there is limited availability. I am offering this program from 12pm-2pm and from 8:00pm-9:30pm Monday through Friday, February 4th - February 15th.

Payment must be made when registering, payment of $400 is due no later than the first day of treatment. Experience has shown that those who are committed are the most successful.

Acupuncture and Sciatic Pain

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Sciatic pain, also know as Sciatica, is a condition where the sciatic nerve is impinged causing tingling and pain that starts at the hip and radiates downward along the side of the leg to the knee and, if untreated, continues down to the top of the foot. Untreated, sciatica results in limited mobility, pain, and other problems such as lack of sleep due to the increased pain.

Acupuncture treatments have been shown to treat sciatica effectively, depending on the severity of the condition. A licensed acupuncturist will be able to tell you if your condition is treatable and what the treatment plan would be - everyone is different so treatment plans will vary according to severity, length of the condition, the persons health and ability to heal, diet, exercise, etc.

In addition to acupuncture, I will teach you stretching techniques that will help you reduce or even eliminate the discomfort of sciatica.

Advanced Allergy Therapeutics at The Atlantic Center

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Beginning in February 2009, The Atlantic Center will be providing Advanced Allergy Therapeutics (AAT). AAT is a breakthrough technology that eliminates the reactions from most forms of allergies and sensitivities. Rather than simply addressing the symptoms, AAT treats the problem at its source by retraining the body so that it no longer reacts inappropriately to a harmless substance.

Once treated, patients can recommence contact with the substance that had previously caused the allergic reaction or sensitivity. AAT merges 21st century science and technology with 3,000-year-old traditional acupuncture principles in offering an effective alternative in the treatment of allergies and sensitivities.

Here is a link to see the AAT video presentation! This is a report that shows both sides of the story: the AAT story and the conventional western medical perspective.

Al*ler*gy (al-er-jee)

n. Inappropriate immune response

Allergies are a physiological error. The body is reacting negatively to a harmless substance (like pollen), certain foods (like dairy products or wheat) or stimuli (like sunlight or cold). This is an error that can be corrected!

Best of all, AAT is:

Non-Invasive

NO needles

NO drugs, herbals or supplements

NO avoidance

NO pain, no side effects

Safe for Children and Infants

Conditions often Caused by Allergies or Sensitivities:

Eczema, Skin rashes, Hives, Atopic Dermatitis are often caused by foods, plants, contactants and chemicals, including multiple chemical sensitivities

Herbal Spotlight: Olive Leaf

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Olive Leaf, extensively used in Ancient Egypt, is enjoying a resurgence as a powerful defender against sickness. It’s been used over the year for many purposes from increasing energy and promoting healthy blood pressure, to supporting the cardiovascular system, and the immune system. Some studies have shown Olive Leaf to be an anti-viral, anti-bacterial and is often used to fight parasites.

If you are suffering from chronic colds (upper respiratory infection), Olive Leaf may help you fight it. For more informatoin about Olive Leaf one place to go on the web is Olivus, a website that sells Olive leaf products and has a lot of good information about the benefits of Olive Leaf. The Atlantic Center does not endorse Olivus, it is merely a reference point for your research.Olive Leaf

Is Insomnia Related to Heart Health?

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Chinese Medicine draws a link between some types of insomnia and the Heart. According to Chinese Medicine, sleep is dependent on the state of blood and yin, as they are the residence of the Mind. If they are deficient, then the Mind will wander during sleep, this we call insomnia.

A recent New York Times article suggests a link between sleeplessness and heart health. Essentially, lack of sleep may causes coronary calcifications. Published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the study goes on to suggest that just one more hour of sleep could result in a 33% drop in calcification.

In terms of Chinese Medicine, this would make sense, as deficient blood health would result in problems with vasculature, especially coronary arteries.

If you or someone you know suffers from insomnia, please contact the office to schedule an appointment.

Pain is worse if it inflicted intentionally?

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

A recent study asserts that pain, when inflicted intentionally, feels worse then if it was an accident. An article in The New York Times reports that a study, published in a recent issue of Psychological Science, shows that people feel pain as being worse when someone is inflicting it versus it being random or unintentional. It would be interesting to run a study that tests acupuncture given by a caring and compassionate person versus being administered by a mechanical robot!
