Atlantic Center, how green?
Tuesday, December 16th, 2008Everyone is talking about going green or how they are already green. From the ‘goot a hoot, don’t pollute’ campaign of years ago to today’s efforts to reduce waste in packaging, everyone is striving to limit waste and it’s effect on the environment. At The Atlantic Center, we do our part by doing the our best to keep the planet green. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let us know!
Recycle all paper products that are not used in medical procedures
Use reusable water bottles for our Kangen water.
Solar Power - while we do have the ability to put solar panels to use inthe office, Rob has had them installed at home. Any extra electricity generated is fed back into the grid for others to use. This is a win-win situation for everybody!
TIPS for everyone:
- Limit plastic water bottle usage, buy a reusable bottle instead
- Turn off lights when not in use
- When leaving home, turn off power strips that feed computers, electronics, microwaves, etc. These appliances use electricity all the time and amount to $8-$25 per year is electricity costs.
- Turn down the thermostat - studies show that higher room temperatures contribute to illness
- Check you local recycling center, most take all forms of paper from newsprint to magazines and phonebooks. Paper accounts for up to 25% of the volume of a landfill!
